Don't do it!

Many articles relating to exercise and nutrition are written
that address what "to do" to achieve your fitness goals.
Rarely does an article talk about what NOT to do to achieve
success. The goal of this article is to introduce you to
some common mistakes that are made when working out.
Don't bounce!
Bouncing the bar off your chest, bouncing out of the bottom
position of a squat, or similar actions serves no purpose in
helping you get stronger, more developed or lean. Two things
do occur; you pump up your ego and you increase your chance
for injury. There is a high amount of stress placed on the
connective tissue when momentum is used rather than your
muscles. Strive to have control and good form, rather than
CHEATING to get the weight up!
Don't round your back!
When lifting, a rounded back increases the likelihood of
strains and sprains in your lower back and shoulder region.
Keeping your shoulders back and your lower back in a
neutral/arched position serves to keep your spine in
alignment and acts as a natural weight belt.
Don't let your heels come up when squatting, leg pressing
or lunging!
When the heels are raised or not in contact with the floor
undue stress is placed on the ligaments of the knee joint
and emphasis is lost on the posterior portion of your
legs/glutes.
Don't do your cardio before your weights!
A five-minute warm-up is fine, but doing cardio first
depletes the energy you need to lift weights (glycogen).
When you lift weights your body needs glycogen for fuel.
If this fuel is depleted because of cardio done just
prior, your body will burn your hard earned muscle
tissue for fuel! Done in the opposite order, you will
maximize fat burning and minimize muscle wasting.

How Much Should You Eat To Gain Muscle

A lot of people get advice to eat a lot of junk food in order to bulk
up. Now, in the short term, you will put weight on very quickly - but
a lot of it will be FAT.
It is a myth that you need to eat as much as possible in order to
bulk up...
This means that when you come to diet, you have a lot of fat to lose
and you will look worst than when you did at the start.
You should stick to the clean foods I advise you to eat in the 'Non
Stop Natural Growth' training program, during your off season or
bulking up phase...
You can eat a higher quantity of these foods because they are
"clean'.
In your bulking up phase, you can eat more carbs such as porridge,
rice and potatoes. Also, you can have your treats on the weekend.
This all means that when you come to diet you haven't got to lose
LOADS of fat and you will have put on more quality muscle on your
frame.
If you eat quality food you will make quality muscle gains.
A lot of people forget about their diet and invest all their money
on as many supplements as they can possibly buy!...
The supplement industry is massive and it's easy to get carried away.
You have to remember the *basics*.
If you have a bad diet, it doesn't matter how many supplements you
take if your diet isn't right...
Your diet is the foundation to your physique.
Get your diet correct first and then once you are getting gains, then
move onto introducing supplements.
Remember, get your diet right FIRST and then start using supplements!

Super-Human Like Muscle Growth
Tofu Fakin' Bacon Recipe

Tomatoes are in full swing this summer, so why not have a Fakin’ Bacon, lettuce and tomato sandwich!
Serves 2-4; prep time, 10 minutes; total time 1 hr, 45 minutes
Ingredients
•1 block of of organic extra firm tofu (Pressed for 30 minutes)
•1/4 cup soy sauce
•1 TB olive oil
•2 TB maple syrup
•2 tsp vegan Worcestershire sauce
•1 tsp liquid smoke
• freshly ground black pepper
•1 tsp garlic paste
• pinch smoked salt
Directions
1.After you have pressed and removed all the water out of your tofu, slice it however you would like, but make sure the slices are thin—about 1/4 inch.
2.Combine all marinade ingredients in a shallow dish or bowl and then thoroughly soak the pieces of tofu in marinade. If you can leave it overnight, that is the best, but if not, at least 30 minutes.
3.While the tofu is marinating, preheat oven to 400 and line a cookie sheet with parchment paper. Spray with spray oil.
4.When tofu is done marinating, place in a single layer on cookie sheet and place in oven for 30-45 minutes. It’s your call. The longer you leave the tofu in, the crunchier it will be. 30 is tender with some crunch, 45 is crunch.
5.Remove from oven, let cool slightly and enjoy. You can also store in the fridge for a few days and enjoy your creation as part of a FBLT sandwich!
Asparagus Tomato Sauce atop
Zucchini Noodles

Ingredients (serves 1):
1 Small Zucchini, sliced/peeled/etc. into noodles
1 Large Tomato, chopped
1 Tbsp. Olive Oil
1/4 Cup of Asparagus, chopped
1/4 Cup of Green Onions, or White Onion
1 tsp. Italian Seasoning Mix
1/2-1 tsp. Garlic Powder, or 1-2 Garlic Cloves, minced
Sea Salt & Fresh Ground Pepper to taste
Directions:
Saute green onions with asparagus until the green onions brown a little, about 3 minutes over medium heat. Add in tomato, herbs, and garlic powder and simmer over low-medium heat until you can mash up the tomato a bit to create a chunky sauce. Season with sea salt & pepper to taste, add a bit of red pepper flakes for some spice. Top the zucchini noodles with the sauce and toss together, serve while warm.
